About the therapist

Meet Addie
Addie Lanterman has felt drawn to the work of helping others for as long as she can remember. In one form or another, she has been “doing therapy” since elementary school—listening, connecting, and creating space for people to feel heard and understood.
Today, Addie considers this work more than a profession; it is something she feels called to do. She brings genuine compassion, curiosity, and care to each person she works with, recognizing that every individual’s story and journey is unique.
For Addie, the therapeutic relationship is built on trust, authenticity, and the belief that meaningful change begins with feeling truly seen.

Away from her clinical practice, Addie finds fulfillment in the intentional and meaningful moments of daily life. She values time spent with her husband and their children, finding joy in being present as her kids explore their interests and grow. Her personal time is spent reading, walking, and creating pottery. Above all, Addie cherishes connecting with her friends and family, appreciating shared experiences together.

Areas of expertise

Anxiety

Feeling anxious is a natural human reaction to life's stressors, but when that worry feels heavy or constant, it can interfere with your rest, focus, and daily functioning. You do not have to carry that weight alone. In our sessions, I will create a safe space for us to get curious about your thoughts and experiment with practical tools that help you feel more grounded. Together, we will work on decreasing your anxiety symptoms and increase your desired level of functioning.

Depression

Depression is more than just feeling down; it can drain your energy and make daily life feel like a struggle. This often involves persistent sadness, shifts in sleep, or a lack of interest in things you once loved and can leave you feeling stuck. Therapy offers a welcoming, down-to-earth space to explore why you feel this way. Together, we will find practical ways to manage these feelings, helping you regain your spark, improve your mental well-being, and feel more connected to a sense of purpose and joy.

Complex Trauma

Complex trauma often stems from situations, particularly those that happen within our closest circles or while you were growing up. These situations you experienced can affect how you manage emotions, view yourself, or trust others. In our work together, I will create a safe space to untangle those heavy experiences. We will focus on finding real ways to help you feel stable again, improving your relationships, and building a genuine sense of inner peace and self-assurance.

Couples

Couples counseling is a safe space for you to work on communication, break out of old patterns and truly start to hear one another. Whether you are dealing with trust issues, life changes, or just feeling out of sync, we will work through it together. By getting on the same page, you will find better ways to handle disagreements and build a partnership that feels connected.

Parenting

Parenting therapy is a time where you can better understand what your kids need, improve your communication, and handle the real-world ups and downs of raising a family. We will dig into big behaviors, setting boundaries, and managing shifting family dynamics as your children grow. By working together, we will find practical ways to help you feel more confident in your parenting and build a home life that feels more connected and peaceful.

Grief and Loss

Losing someone or something meaningful can turn your world upside down, leaving a mix of feelings such as sadness, anger, disappointment, discouragement and lost. Therapy gives you a place to sit with those heavy emotions and work on navigating the changes that have occurred. Together, we will focus on processing your pain and finding a way to feel okay again.

Substance Use

Our sessions will offer a friendly, judgment-free space to explore  the role substances play in your life and see if shifting gears feels right for you. We will explore your habits, your values, and weigh the pros and cons of making a change. Whether you are thinking about cutting back, trying something new, or just want to get a clearer picture of your relationship with substances, I am here to support your choices. I aim to help you feel empowered to make the best decisions for your path.
